The Table
On the night He was betrayed, Jesus sat at a table with his disciples and introduced them to a meal the Church has been both celebrating and debating ever since. Whether you call it Communion, the Lord’s Supper, the Sacrament, or even the Eucharist, this Table was never meant to divide us, but unite us. It is, in fact, God’s gift to His Church to illuminate how Christ has fulfilled each and every table discussed throughout the pages of Scripture. This sermon series will explore just a few of these tables – the Passover, the table in the Tabernacle, David’s table and the wedding feast of the lamb – and show us the power of what Jesus did at Calvary and why this communion table is so incredibly significant.
